Secular and Ministry and Work Background

I’d have a difficult time writing a resume or a CV unless it was specifically for a particular position. My background and interests are widely varied.

My Secular and Ministry work background:

Over the last 32 years I’ve owned or been a partner in multiple businesses that included construction, lawn care and landscaping, a feed store, virtual office assistance, consulting, event planning, webpage content management and book publications.

Aside from actual businesses,  I’ve done lots of different things to produce an income including my work as a nurse, working as a tissue recovery team leader for LifeNet Health (surgical removal of donated organs and tissue), freelance writing, Amway/Quixtar, mystery shopping, painting houses, U-First, various other network marketing businesses, and contracting with FEMA as a disaster housing inspector.

My ministry background includes:

  • Ministry within the church: Deacon care leader, armorbearer, altar care,  audio-video and website ministry, book publications ministry, mission team leader and even building maintenance for a time
  • Ministry in the community: Nursing home  ministry,  ministry at the Roanoke Rescue Mission, ministry to broken-down motorists, ministry to Appalachian Trail thru-hikers
  • Work-place ministry:  Ministering to both my patients on my nursing job and my disaster victims
  • Foreign Missions: Evangelism and medical missions: 6 mission trips to Uganda
